It has a chain of more than 300 distribution and supply centers across the country. Now, the client has come on ecommerce to make it big with 14,000+ products including food products, party products, janitorial products etc. The key reason behind the success of client’s business is the best shipping policy that lures the customers most.

Project Highlights

The client approached Brainvire to customize its shipping module which was giving a lot of issues and impacting revenues badly. Sometimes, shipping charges used to go above product cost which was not at all a good scenario for the business. Case Study

The Challenges

  • Shipping Calculation base on the regions
    The in-place module was not region based. The client wanted to exclude US region from the shipping. Plus client wanted the different shipping charges for different other regions. For some regions like Alaska, the client didn’t want the business to be in.
  • Weight and Cost based Shipping Calculation
    Some products with kind of SKU series, shipping costs are calculated based on the price of the product. If product price goes above a certain range, the shipping charges gets bigger. Same way for a weight based calculation, if product’s weight goes beyond a limit, charges gets increased.
  • Challenge: Changing format of UPC codes from text to number everywhere in application
    The client’s agency loaded the UPC codes in an incorrect format, so in reports, in product details, and in website pages, the larger numbers were being displayed in a wrong manner. Furthermore, a huge number of SKUs were incorrect and needed to be uploaded in order to make website error-free and user-friendly.
  • Integration with Stripe, Sphynx, and UDropship
    The client required integration with Stripe for credit cart functioning. Furthermore, Sphynx search functionality was asked for auto fill feature. And, to make shipping process easier, UDropship was also required to be integrated.
