The client is India’s leading logistics company with Pan India presence. The company provides multi-modal logistics services across different industrial sectors, states and union territories in the country. The company offers fast and reliable logistics solutions to deliver customer’s goods through all the three primary modes of transport - rail, road and air.

Project Highlights

The client wanted to develop a fully automated logistics system to provide real time data access and comprehensive functionalities for the needs of their ecommerce clients like Amazon, Flipkart etc. Here the ecommerce client is just a vendor who sources goods to the buyers from other suppliers. Hence, client wanted to develop .Net application that can provide complete tracking of this entire logistics process right from the order booking on ecommerce website and fetching goods from supplier to delivery of goods to buyers.

    Because of the existing process the staff was not able to access the real time data.
  • Reduce the manual work
    Existing process enabled the staff to manually make entries of the orders/consignment making it time taking job.

    Implementing the complete complex rate structure to automatically calculate the consignment and order rates.
  • Tracking and Tracing
    After the orders were dispatched there was no way to track the real time status of the order

  • Real Time data Synchronization

    Real time booking feature which automatically synchronizes the order placed on ecommerce vendor’s website with client system.

  • Complex Rate Structure

    Implemented the complex rate structure logic for easily and automatically calculating rates of the consignments based on various factors like distance, weight etc.

  • Data Migration

    Successfully migrated the existing .Net version to latest technology and migrated the existing database from .NET 2.0 to .NET 4.5

  • Barcode scanning

    Implemented barcode scanning for fast delivery processes and to save up the extra costs on data entry and cross verification
